We've been planning our civil wedding but really didn't get the chance to make it happen because of the pandemic. After that, list of requirements have changed and so on and so forth. We already have a baby when we finally did go to the Taguig City Hall to submit our requirements for review. My fiance is an American Citizen so our requirements are a bit different than the local requirements. Below is the steps on how to Apply or at least have your requirements reviewed by the City's Registrar:
1. Make sure that you have the complete list of requirements depending on your class. You also need 2 copies of all documents so make sure to photocopy them before you go to avoid any inconvenience.
Below are the requirements to get a marriage license certificate for a civil wedding in Taguig City:
- Original Birth Certificate of Applicants (must be readable) (NSO/PSA or Certified Copy from The Local Civil Registry Office (if there’s an Error, Attached Affidavit of Discrepancy)
- Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR) from PSA of Both Applicants (Must Be Valid For Six (6) Months Only)
- Pre-Marriage Certificate - from Taguig City Health Center (applicants With Ages 18 And Above) Please click here on how to get this.
- Barangay Certification/Barangay ID (proof of Residency/CEDULA)
- Valid I.D. (Except Philhealth ID) See List The Valid IDs Below
Additional Requirements for 18 to 25 years old Applicant:
- Advice Upon Intended Marriage (applicants With Ages 21-24) (for Male/Female)
- Personal Appearance of Both Parents, FATHER And MOTHER With Valid ID’s)
- Consent of Father - Applicants With Ages 18 To 20 (For Male/ Female – Personal Appearance Of FATHER With Valid ID; If Deceased, MOTHER)_ IF Out Of Town Advice/Consent – With Parents Valid ID, Dry Seal, Signature Of Civil Registrar And Official Receipt From Issuing Municipal Hall._ Death Certificate Of Deceased Parents (PSA/NSO Or Certified Copy) For Parental Advice Or Father’s Consent.
- Pre-Marriage Counseling Certificate From DSWD (applicants With Ages
18-25) By Appointment In DSWD Office. (Note Please Get A Schedule Before
The Appointment Application For Marriage License.)
Additional Requirements for Annulled/Widow/Widower applicants:
- Decision And Finality (From Court) –
Certified True Copy With Dry Sealed.
- Certified True Copy Of Authenticity And Certificate Of Registration (From Civil Registry Office)
- Certified True Copy With Dry Sealed._ Death Certificate Of A Deceased Spouse (PSA Or Certified Copy)_ If Previously Married In The Philippines, Please Submit PSA Copy Of Marriage Certificate With Annotation Of Declaration Of Nullity Of His/her Marriage_ Photocopy Of Passport (Front And Arrival
Additional Requirements for Foreigner Applicant:
- Certificate Of Legal Capacity From Embassy (with English Translation)
- Original & Photocopy of Passport (Front and Stamp of Latest Arrival)
- Certificate Of No Marriage (CENOMAR) From PSA - Must Be Valid For 6 Months Only
- Divorced Certificate (from Court) – Original Copy._ Death Certificate Of A Deceased Spouse
2. Set-up an online appointment here: Taguig City Online Appoitment. Once done, do not forget to print or at least take a screenshot or picture of your appointment confirmation. They will ask for that when you get there. . There's no specific time when you set-up an appointment, only morning or afternoon. My advise, go there as early as you can to avoid a long line.
Just a happy note, the registrar is very accommodating and helpful
during our visit. Oh, and you have to set an appointment in order for
them to assist you.
