- Traveling from Moscow to Vladivostok is the longest rail journey in the world. It takes 7 days through the frozen taiga forests, totaling 9,302km (5,780miles). It's cheap but considering the journey you might want to take a plane instead.
- If you want to experience the fastest train ride of your life, go to China. The Maglev train covers the intervening 30km (19miles) from downtown Shanghai to Pudong International Airport. In just 8 minutes and with a top speed of 501km/h (311mph), it's quite a ride.
