Not far from Syquia Mansions stands the Crisologo Museum, a museum built in memory of the former Ilocos Sur Congressman Floro S. Crisologo, who died a tragic death. The museum contains most of his and his family's memorabilia
Based on history, Floro Crisologo was shot in the head while inside the St. Paul's Cathedral. The tragedy was not solved until now, but people said the family knows who ordered the killing. But instead of taking action, they built the museum to make sure people will not forget what happened.
Like any other houses in Vigan, the museum is also old which only adds to its attraction. The museum is very popular among tourists and locals. Some of them visit to look at the old memorabilia, but some visit to see the evidence of what's written in history.
The first thing you'll see when you enter the museum is the signage and a lot of people walking around. The museum is included in all of the Calesa tour so it tends to get busy in the afternoon.
On the walls along the hallway, displays can already be seen. On the ground floor are the libraries that contain collections of books and news clippings about him and his political career.
At the end of the hallway, an old Calesa (Horse Carriage) and a battered old car are displayed. The old car was said to be where his wife survived an attempt to her life. It should be a display only, but some people are riding it just to take pictures.
On the stairways are displays of native products all the way to the second floor. Old hats are displayed at the second floor. We didn't have much time when we visited because of the tour so we didn't have much time exploring the museum.
If you are planning on going there, don't get the Calesa tour, go there on your own. It will give you enough time to explore the museum and know its history.
